Expert Analysis

This kid is just starting to scratch the surface of what he could be by the time he graduates. Nehemiah has an elite frame for the WR/TE position. 6’4″, 195 lbs, 6’5″ wingspan, 4.97 40, 4.59 shuttle, and 7.22 L-Drill. The long-striding sophomore can get downfield in a hurry and he understands his size advantage and uses it to go get the ball at the high point. I think he can get even more dominant and strong at the catch point. He is also just starting to learn how to win with route running. The short area agility is there for him to utilize. Big things ahead for Nehemiah.

Nehemiah is in a situation where opportunity and talent could meet at the perfect point. The 6’4″ 170 lbs incoming sophomore spent his freshman season leading the way at WR on JV while putting together a strong collection of highlights. He has a massive wingspan that shines when it comes to high pointing the ball, using his frame to create space, and also beating DBs downfield with his extremely long strides. That size and talent should have a path to Friday nights too as only two members of the offense who caught a pass in 2024 will return this fall, and those two combined for 5 catches. So the door is open for a talented athlete to take over at WR1. I believe that could be Nehemiah. I know I’ll be keeping a close eye on him early in the season to see if he can earn a role with the starting offense. I recommend others do too.

Nehemiah is an impressive athlete who is just starting to scratch the surface on what he could be. The 6’3″ 170 lbs WR runs a 4.8 40, led the JV in receptions, yards, and TDs and in the offseason qualified for State in the 4X1 and $x1 relays. Nehemiah has great length for the WR position, and it shows up on tape as he soars above DBs for the catch. He has powerful hands that rip the ball away in traffic. His long strides quickly eat up ground when he wants to get vertical. After the catch it is surprising watching Steward knife through the secondary with sudden cuts. He has a great nose for how to attack the secondary and maximize his yards after the catch. I hope we get to see him on Friday nights. He seems to be ready for that next leap in competition.
