Week 9 was no different for Nesbit as he had a monster performance against Alton. He impacted the game in all three phases the game.

Defense: Interception returned for 69 yards for a TD
Special Teams: 85 yard kickoff return for a TD

It only took Navontae Nesbit Navontae Nesbit 5'9" | 155 lbs | RB Mt Vernon | 2024 IL 6 carries to make this list. With those 6 carries he was able to net 207 yards and 6 touchdowns. Every time he touched the ball on Friday night he scored. This was truly a mind blowing performance. He is an explosive back with he ability to break the long touchdowns runs. Nesbit has been the workhorse this season for Mt Vernon with over 1,000 yards rush on the year and averaging 7.9 yards a carry.

Mr. Nesbit was on the Watch List coming into this fall season and he’s off to a good start showcasing why he deserves a bump to the rankings. His ability to threaten the edge as he turns the corner and then gets vertical to break long runs is one to watch. In the first clip in his highlights below, he’s able to not only turn the corner but he’s able to maintain body control as he breaks a long run along the sideline to get in for six. With such a good start, I’m very interested to see how he performs the rest of this season. Twitter
