There’s room here for some DL prospects in Alabama to make a push upwards in this draft, and Pride is one of those guys to watch. He is listed at 6’1 270, but I like the compensators and how he plays at that size. He is explosive off the line and feisty with his hands, working hard to shed and free himself. He tracks and finishes well as a ball carrier, giving him value in any situation. He already holds D1 offers, and that offer list should continue to grow over the next two years.

Pride brings a strong blend of lateral quickness and physical power to the defensive line. His first step allows him to close space quickly, while his hand usage helps him disengage from blockers once contact is made. He is particularly effective converting speed to power, using his initial momentum to drive offensive linemen backward. His bull rush and long-arm technique both show the ability to generate pocket collapse.

Against the run, Pride does a good job holding his ground along the line of scrimmage and has recognition skills to locate the ball quickly and finish plays when runners enter his gap .The combination of strength, burst, and functional technique gives Pride a solid skill set to effect the game on all three downs and be effective at every spot on the line.
