is a destructive LB from Fairhope who’s coming in as our #5 LB and #66 overall player in the state.
“Gearhart is such a disruptive force on Fairhope’s defense. He can rush the passer, defend the run, and even drop into coverage and make plays. I’m seriously impressed with how he finds his way into the backfield. He has a dominant blend of speed, power, and aggression he uses to work around offensive linemen and create huge stops behind the line of scrimmage.
Gearhart isn’t some one-trick pony. He has some seriously impressive coverage skills that make him an even bigger threat to opposing offenses. He does a great job dropping back and staying with quicker targets downfield, and consistently finds ways to get hands on the ball and create splash plays.”
Gearhart had a really impressive season for Fairhope this past year. I’m really looking forward to his junior year. He’s shown a ton of great things on tape that you can see below:

I hadn’t watched Gearhart before this week, but man, he’s an impressive defender. Be sure to check out his film below, and look out for him next season.

Gearhart has one of the best motors in the state regardless of class- and it simply jumps off the screen when watching film. His versatility is also glaring when studying his game. As a rusher he plays with an edge and flashes nuance with spins, swim moves, active hands, disengage ability. Making him a great secondary rusher.
However Gearhart cam also drops to off-ball linebacker and shows high zone awareness + QB-tracking skill. He flows confidently against the run, sits in windows with depth, and contests throws at the catch point as a backer. Effort-created plays show up repeatedly, and when paired with developing hand usage and flexibility, Gearhart is sure to a problem for years to come.

Gearhart shows strong promise as a pass rusher with quickness, agility, and relentless effort. He rarely plays flat-footed, consistently finishing plays in the open field. Flashed a bit of nuance with spin moves and bend around tackles. With physical growth and development, he has the potential to emerge as a premium prospect in the Class of 2028, combining high ceiling with elite motor.
