It's time to dive into specific AL coverage as we inch closer to the summer. Here, I highlight some rising seniors who will shape 6A Region 1 this fall.

Moore was incredibly productive as a junior, and some D1 recruiting attention has started to come around this offseason. Moorer is long and stronger than you would think just by looking at him. He uses his length to stab and stick blockers to keep his chest clean. He has the strength to stand in and hold his ground, and he brings his feet to continue working and shed. He takes efficient steps and can bend, allowing him to work leverage and attack the weak points of blockers. If Moorer can find an extra gear athletically, he will really pop.

Graham is a highly productive passer who has emerged as one of the most productive and best 2027 QBs in AL. He is a towering, but strong and commanding 6'5 225. He is a true pocket passer with a smooth, easy-going pace in the drop-back game. I am really impressed with his touch, proving capable of manipulating the trajectory on the ball to drop it in and bend it around defenders. He is able to speed up his delivery and rifle the ball into tight windows when needed, but I'd still say his touch and finesse are what set him apart for me.

Segar, committed to South Alabama, broke records as a junior at Daphne. He is a tall, athletic player with room to fill out and get bigger. This kid has violent, but controlled arm action. The ball explodes out of his hand, which translates when he works off-platform and on the move. He is a capable athlete, but he uses that athleticism to make subtle shifts in the pocket and evade chaos. He does a spectacular job of creating foot space for himself to launch. Segar has gunslinger qualities, but played that way while protecting the football and playing efficiently.

Maxwell is a tone setter in this region on the offensive front and has long been one of my favorite OL prospects in AL out of this class. Maxwell is a heavy, strong, manipulative blocker who can control the point with his strong hands. He is hard to run through and also hard to run around with his length. He is simply a mound of a human who will likely slide inside full-time at the next level, but there is still a world he sticks at RT at his size.

Butler is an underrated receiver who deserves more attention for his production and his traits. Butler is a linear, long-strider with some serious juice after the catch. He is already hard enough to run with thanks to his long strides, but he just finds another gear with the ball. When he finds his top speed, he holds it, allowing him to beat angles and outrun defenders for big gains. He is capable of winning above the rim, and flashes several times on tape, but that area of his game will improve as he gets stronger. I am looking to see how his short area quickness develops.

Garner is another towering QB prospect on this list, but he has a bit more juice and physical upside. He is a lean basketball athlete who is still filling out. He is a long, natural thrower of the football who can put some booming trajectory on the football. I am expecting him to take another jump as a senior. Without making an unfair comparison, Garner reminds me of former Fairhope QB Riley Leonard in the sense that he is a big QB with a basketball background. Garner, in his own right, is picking up D1 attention this offseason.

Gearhart produced at a high level and set the tone for Fairhope on defense, and did so as an underclassman last fall. Gearhart will handle any responsibility he needs to in the front seven, but is an obvious projection to play off the ball and right in the middle of a defense. Gearhart will grind in traffic and aggressively take on blockers. I love his first step from the LB spot. He flashes urgency from the jump and does it in a controlled manner.

This is my first look at Dixon, who has several D1 offers under his belt. Dixon is a gadgety playmaker with truly elite YAC and separation skills with the football in his hand. A true joystick-like mover with elite change of direction and an uncanny ability to get himself out of congested areas. His money will be made as a playmaker and a returner, but he has some bounce in his routes and flashes the ability to win in the air. Dixon is a walking highlight reel. His playstyle finds the field early in college.

Smith is a bona fide FBS RB prospect with the production, traits, and attention to back up that claim. Smith is a big, driver of a RB who sees a hole and hits it. At 210 pounds, he can effortlessly power through the arms of defenders and fall forward at contact. He consistently rallies off big plays where he lifts off, and as that pad level starts to come down, he could even tap into another gear. Not much to overthink here. He is big, powerful, and has plenty of juice athletically to tie everything together.
