Naquan Johnson
About Naquan
Expert Analysis

Ranked as the third best linebacker in all of New England (2025). St. Thomas More as well as Naquan himself know how fond I am of his talents, it’s been a pleasure seeing Johnson grow into a serious football prospect. I had the chance to see Johnson wow collegiate suitors back in May during STM’s pro-day event. I couldn’t help but be a bit proud.
Where do we currently stand in terms of recruiting? Long Island University recently reached out to Johnson in the form of a scholarship offer. The later an offer a received, the more likely it is that such offer is committable. An absolute steal to any FCS program that lands this young man, I’d argue he’d be the prized possesion of any FCS 2025 class. Bowling Green and Army WP could still have Johnson as a take, offering the linebacker within the past 12 months. I do have to scratch my head a bit at the potential lack of opportunities presented in recent months. Johnson will have to do with what’s given. Very excited to see where he inevitably ends up.

An outside linebacker who can deliver the boom when blitzed off the edge or stunting inside. He gets there with good foot quickness and uses his strong, violent hands and arms to shed blockers who attempt to get in his way. His physical presence pops on film. He reacts quickly to passing situations and his field awareness to open receivers is special. He has the skills to cover in man coverages and react quickly to zone coverages. A solid large framed linebacker who measurables align with an FBS Power 5 linebacker.

. - Ranked as one of the best LBs in all of PA, withholding offers from Lafayette, Army WP, Colgate, Duquesne, Fordham, Richmond, Bowling Green.
- Like my above block on Nelson, I won’t get into any new analysis on Johnson until after the STM season ends.
- There aren’t too many LBs in New England that can say they have a better skillset and resume than Johnson’s. Excited to see if any prospect can knock Johnson out of the top five moving forward.
