I decided to add an “Athlete” spot to this team as Mitchell Berger Mitchell Berger 5'11" | 190 lbs | ATH Beechwood | 2023 State KY did a little bit of everything for Beechwood this season. His season was unfortunately cut short after eight games but Berger had quite a season in the games that he played in. He did most of his damage on the ground, running the ball 121 times for 1,119 yards and 21 touchdowns. Berger is a hard-nosed, downhill runner with the ability to burst through the running lane and run through defenders without breaking stride. He has also shown that he has the speed to run away from the defense once he hits the open field. Berger also showed ability in the passing game, catching 19 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns. He was also a very reliable kicker, making 19/19 of his PAT attempts and hitting his one field goal attempt this season. Mitchell is committed to play baseball at Eastern Kentucky but could easily play football at the next level if he were to have a sudden change of heart.

Mitchell Berger Mitchell Berger 5'11" | 190 lbs | ATH Beechwood | 2023 State KY is a player that was off to a very hot start to his senior year and unfortunately had it cut short after eight games due to an injury. However, he made a huge impact in all three phases of the game during that span of games. On offense, Berger stood out as a running back, finishing the season with 121 carries for 1,119 yards and 21 touchdowns. He is a hard-nosed downhill runner, showing the ability to burst through the running lane and run right through opposing defenders without breaking stride. Once he hits the open field, Berger has shown that he also has the speed to run away from the defense. Berger also showed the ability to pose as a threat in the passing game, finishing his senior year with 19 catches for 251 yards and two touchdowns. He also proved to be a very reliable kicker, making 19/19 PAT attempts and hitting his one field goal attempt this season. On defense, Beechwood didn’t post their official stats, but Berger made a big impact as a linebacker, showing the ability to read his keys, flow to the ball, and finish tackles with a ton of physicality in the open field. Mitchell is committed to play baseball at Eastern Kentucky in college but could definitely play football at the next level if he were to have a sudden change of heart.

Mitchell Berger Mitchell Berger 5'11" | 190 lbs | ATH Beechwood | 2023 State KY was a do-it-all player for Beechwood this season but he seemed to succeed the most at running back. Berger finished his senior season third in 2A in rushing with 121 carries for 1,119 yards and 21 touchdowns in only eight games. Mitchell is a great downhill runner with the ability to run right through defenders in the open field. He combines that strength with the speed to break away for long touchdown runs. Berger also showed reliability in the passing game, catching 19 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns this season. He also made 19 PAT attempts and one field goal as a kicker, putting him at first in 2A in scoring with 162 total points. Berger also started on defense and played a key role as a linebacker. Unfortunately, Berger will miss the playoffs due to an injury but he has an outstanding senior year and is committed to play baseball at Eastern Kentucky.

Mitchell Berger Mitchell Berger 5'11" | 190 lbs | ATH Beechwood | 2023 State KY is a player that has jumped onto my radar and has proven to be one of the best players in the state this season. On offense, he played running back and finished third in 3A with 1,119 rushing yards on 121 carries for 21 touchdowns in just eight games. Berger is a downhill runner with the ability to find the running lane quickly and hit it in a hurry. He keeps his legs churning through contact to run through tackles and has shown the speed to run away from the defense once he hits the open field. Berger has also shown reliability as a pass catcher, catching 19 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns this season. He is also Beechwood’s kicker, making 19 PAT attempts and one field goal, putting him at 162 total points which was second in 2A this season. On defense, Berger plays linebacker where he does a great job of reading his keys and coming downhill to fill his gap against the run. Once he gets to the ball carrier, he explodes through contact with a ton of physicality on his tackles. I also like the high motor that he plays with, showing the ability to run all over the field to make tackles. Unfortunately, Berger suffered a season-ending injury but will still go down as one of the top players in the state this year. He is committed to play baseball at Eastern Kentucky but could definitely play football at the college level if he has a change of heart.
