This is the highest Michael Hershey has ever placed on our ranks, yet somehow, I still think it’s a bit too low. Outstanding wrestling career on top of what he’s done on the turd, Michael Hershey, despite landing at ten, flirted with the top five. Just three days after receiving an offer out of Maryland, the Spring-Grove star announced his decision to commit to Terps Football. Maryland doesn’t always bring in the best talent out of PA, especially recently, yet their win in Michael Hershey and Anthony Robsock Anthony Robsock 6'6" | 260 lbs | OL Central Dauphin | 2024 State PA should have Terp fans feeling good about their presence in the Keystone State.

Another prospect that myself and fellow scout Patrick Weider actually got to highlight this offseason who really impressed me during the York Mega Camp.
Here’s what Patrick wrote on Hershey;
“Hershey plays defensive end for Spring Grove. In both an even and odd front Hershey holds the edge very well. He uses his hands very well to shed blockers off. Then he has a constant motor that is always attacking and going forward. On several clips I saw him chase down and tackle quarterbacks scrambling. He also has great size to hold the edge. He is listed 6’5 and looks every part of it. With his size and the ability to hold the edge Hershey is a good prospect that should have a chance to continue to impress for his senior year of high school. Hershey’s recruitment is starting to heat up since he has visited with Stony Broco, Dartmouth and Fordam. This number should continue to rise going forward.”rnAfter watching Hershey up close at the camp, I have to fully agree with Patrick’s evaluation. He’s got legitimate size, shows great hand fighting skills, knows how to gain valuable leverage and has an unrelentless motor. He’s firmly a FCS prospect and could be worth a Power Five walk-on look in my opinion as well.

Hershey was recently covered by our Patrick Weider in February and he did a fantastic right up. Here’s what he said.

I love Michael Hershey at defensive line. His recent tape showing off his prowess at tackle has me rethinking what his potential might be when projecting to the next level Hershey has dominant right and left tackle reps on tape. The majority of his punishing reps come when in run-blocking sets, yet he’s flashing some development in pass-pro sets as well. Hershey’s trench play on both sides of the ball has me wanting to label him a D1-floor prospect. Congrats to Michael for earning 1st-team honors at two different positions.

I haven’t had a chance to dig for Michael Hershey’s most recent tape, yet his first two games saw him register four sacks. That’s one hell of a way to start the year. Big #71 sticks out like a sour thumb on the field, and I mean that in the best of ways. His size and power combination is proving to be too much for both tackles and guards in the interior. So many reps in these two games will end up on his end-of-the-season tape. There is no deeper position amongst 2024s than defensive line. Even still, Hershey might still climb our ranks if he keeps this up.
