Colburn is a fun player to watch. He can operate as a ferocious runner or as a pass catcher. He can pick gaps to get through and uses his frame to bounce off tackles. Colburn is the complete package at the running back position.

Strong runner, compact frame.  Good off-tackle tailback who can make defenders miss in space.  Has above-average contact balance and a thick, well-put-together frame.

Michael had a very good Sophomore season in 2024. His very good play helped the Avon Eagles to a perfect 16-0 season and the Division I State Championship where they averaged 38.25 points per game. He displays good vision as he reads the blocks and finds the open hole. He exhibits good quickness in the open field before scoring on a long touchdown run. He is a solid receiver in the passing game showing good hands as he makes the catch. His very good mental toughness enables him to elevate his play near the goal line.
