About Mekhi
Expert Analysis
Matt Morrow | Prep Redzone Scout
Mekhi had a huge junior season with nearly 1500 rushing yards on the year. This year teams have really keyed in hard in attempting to slow him down, yet he still has had an impressive workload of production. Mekhi is a strong inside runner, who knows how to find daylight and can hit home runs with the football in his hands. Mekhi helped lead the Wonders program to the playoffs this season.

After nearly rushing for 1500 yards last year as a junior, defenses are definitely keying in on Mekhi and he is facing a lot of crowded fronts and boxes to run against. Despite the increased attention, Mekhi was able to burst through the middle of the Wolverines’ defense for a 6 yard touchdown run late in the first half. It appears to me that Mekhi bulked up a little bit this off-season and is running with more power behind his pads. I thought Mekhi did a good job of reading the defense and taking what was there for him – his vision in my opinion is one of his best traits in the interior running game.

Herron scored over half of AL Brown’s touchdowns a season ago in a difficult conference, scoring 17 times on the ground and adding three scores as a receiver. Herron excels at making subtle adjustments in the hole to slow down defenders at the second level and position himself well to hit the secondary at full speed. He has homerun speed and good vision as well.
