His burst off the line along with his ability to drop his hips and put his cleat in the ground to cut allows him to create solid passing lanes. Thompson has some wiggle after the catch to turn a routine 5 yard into a 10+ yard catch. The crisp route running can create anxiety for defenders to jump routes and Thompson has the speed to turn up field to make something big happen. The Rams use him as a running back which can create mismatches.
