Continue ReadingLast Friday and Saturday, some of the top talent in the state at the Wide Receiver position took part in a wideout camp at Faiman Field put on by one of the top 7v7 Programs in the Midwest, NElite. The Camp featured wide receiver coach Keith Williams leading drills with the likes of several NFL players, such as Nelson Agholor, Laquan Treadwell, and James Proche to name a few. The drills were intense, the coaching was top notch and you could see the player improvement in real-time. This article will focus on those, outside of the All Camp Team, that impressed on Friday and will start showing up on radars very quickly during their seasons.
https://twitter.com/JettThomallarnNot a stranger to the Redzone pages, Thomalla is a star in the making. His 6’4″ frame and arm strength are attention grabbers, especially when you find out he’s only a sophomore. Thomalla has a zip on the ball that looks effortless, with just a flick of the wrist. During the camp, he showcased his arm and accuracy on multiple occasions. The Patriots are building a solid group of young receivers and with Thomalla at the helm of Ty Wisdom’s offense, expect to see big numbers and a plethora of offers come in for Thomalla in the coming years. Another quarterback that caught my eye was Matthews. A tough, gritty QB who has solid mobility but has no problem standing back and slinging. Matthews displayed solid mechanics and can fit balls into tight windows with spin or drop a deep ball with a nice touch. The Antlers will return multiple offensive positions, including another Camp standout in Charlie Lamski Charlie Lamski 6’3″ | 200 lbs | TE Elkhorn | 2025 State NE , which will benefit Matthews with receiver tendencies and development. Keep an eye on Matthews and the Antlers to make some noise in Class B this fall.

If I could have given an award for effort on Friday, Allen would have been at the top of my list. You could see, and hear, what he was putting into his drills and routes on every attempt. Standing just under 6 foot, Allen still has a strong catch radius due to his long arms. As he grows, he could create serious matchup issues with his length and ability to drop his hips to get separation. The Navigators are building a nice little roster with lots of potential, as Mikey Hunter Mikey Hunter WR NE Jr is a get your popcorn ready type of player. The athleticism, length and effort of Allen could put him in the list of top receivers in the state in the coming years.

One of the first players my eyes gravitated toward during drills was Hall. His footwork and crisp routes made me believe he was more tenured than an incoming freshman. He has an athletic frame that you can tell will take him over 6 foot with a lean frame and long arms. I spoke with Hall on the sidelines and found out he was a little limited as he ran into a object during practice and had a cut. His main point to me was, ” I still made the catch though!”. Hall reminded me of a receiver that I could not put my finger on and then after the camp, I found out that he was Dae’vonn Hall’s little brother and it all made sense. Hall is a replica of Dae’vonn and seems to have a lot of the same abilities. The Thunderbirds are nesting a ton of talent and Hall’s personal commitment to development, could have them on the verge of another special football player.

Hill was one of the more explosive receivers I saw at the Camp. His burst off the line and speed in the open field was impressive and will give any defensive back trouble if they don’t get their hands on him early. He is shifty and when you combine that with his speed, he can create quick separation so quarterbacks benefit getting the ball to him quickly. Omaha Central is another program budding with young talent at the receiver position with Marcellous Llyod and Andrew Brown Andrew Brown 6’0″ | 160 lbs | WR Omaha Central | 2024 State NE , not to mention their gifted tight ends Alijah Wayne Alijah Wayne 6’4″ | 225 lbs | ATH Omaha Central | 2025 State NE and Ike Ackerman Ike Ackerman 6’3″ | 215 lbs | ATH Omaha Central | 2025 State NE . Hill should create some fireworks, getting behind defenses for big gains on offense and special teams this fall.

https://twitter.com/rockstar_m19rnThompson was someone I could see as a classic slot receiver. His burst off the line along with his ability to drop his hips and put his cleat in the ground to cut allows him to create solid passing lanes. Thompson has some wiggle after the catch to turn a routine 5 yard into a 10+ yard catch. The crisp route running can create anxiety for defenders to jump routes and Thompson has the speed to turn up field to make something big happen. The Rams use him as a running back which can create mismatches.
Scouts may find themselves traveling to Omaha Roncalli to catch a glimpse of what Thompson skillset can bring to their school.
A few others that will open eyes:
Demon Littles Jr
Demon Littles Jr
https://twitter.com/deejay_littlesrnDemond has the speed and skillset to make a difference at the next level. His technique is clean and his effort on the field is desired by coaches, finishing Friday in a full layout for the football. Littles traveled all the way from California and showed he has the IT factor.
Jackson Naeve
Jackson Naeve
https://twitter.com/JacksonNaevernNaeve is a very refined receiver. He has the speed to get behind defenders but does a great job of making adjustments to the ball to make a play. Naeve’s skillset should have him primed for a huge senior year.
https://twitter.com/ashtoncoffey6rnCoffey is an athlete and the Knights use him as a bit of a swiss army knife on their offense. You can tell he pays attention to the details and displayed a lot of self-accountability at the camp. If he made a mistake he would use the next opportunity to try and fix it. Coffey’s work ethic is evident and gets results.
