Last season, Jacob tallied 70 tackles, 10.5 TFLs, a sack, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. My biggest takeaway from watching Jacob’s junior tape is that this dude has next-level instincts on the field. He excels as an off-ball linebacker who can sit back, diagnose the play, then break sharply on the ball and get there to deliver a big hit. Jacob displayed smart gap play, as he read his keys effectively and then did a good job of scraping along the line of scrimmage to avoid getting caught up with blockers. Very good lateral burst when closing on the ball and even made some impressive stops when flying in from the play’s backside. Jacob’s motor is the type you love to see from your inside linebacker, as he runs at 100% from snap to whistle and never seems to lose his mean streak. Get after this guys ASAP!
