I remain shocked that nobody has offered Max. This is a D-Lineman with elite motor, good anchor, and developing bend.
Seriously, watch Max’s tape and tell me you know of any unoffered prospects with his motor. He’s a sideline-to-sideline defender as a DE/DT. Plus, he’s got good examples of anchor and agility against great programs like Rochester Adams.
I’d still recommend Max to any D3 program. He’s likely my highest-ranked player with zero traction in the recruiting space.

I JUST wrote about Max a couple of times, but he’s very deserving of inclusion in this article. Even though he doesn’t line up inside a ton, that is where he’ll probably be asked to play in college (or place him at LB)
Again, here’s my evaluation from my spreadsheet.
Strengths
- Elite effort and tenacity (I do not say this lightly)
- Two-way player
- very physical
Weaknesses
- Short arms*
- Struggles keep legs moving while rushing
- Played 5-tech which almost certainly won’t be his position in college
- Relentless effort but sometimes gets himself out of position on run plays- every play looks like a pass rush
Whoever gets Max will be getting a very high-floor player. Excellent physicality and effort on both sides of the ball. Several offensive plays where he’s driving a defender back 5+ yards before pancaking. Several defensive plays showcasing excellent motor and playing through the whistle.
Watched in-person against Groves. Teammates looked up to him, he was a little vocal, but way more of a leader by example. By far the most physical player on Seaholm. Looks big and strong. Played at least until whistle on every play.
A low D2 evaluation. Would be an excellent fit for a lot of schools. Gut says he’ll end up going D3.

I was looking forward to watching Max.
Yesterday, he served as the starting center. At his best, Max got his hands on a defender and drove him far backward. Max’s tape shows it- several pancake blocks, very physical, and some flashes at DT.
Though much of the time, it seemed Max (and the entire Seaholm OL) was overwhelmed by the speed and tenacity of Groves’ defense. Max missed a few key blocks, half because of the excellent Groves scheme and half because he sometimes fired off the ball slow, showed lackluster footwork, etc.
Max is a very good football player. Honestly, he’ll probably move down the rankings just a bit during the next update. Still, I 100% still think he’s a college prospect, probably at the D3 level.

- Game translating extremely well to Varsity
- Quick getoff and violent at point of contact
- Extremely strong showing against Oak Park, allowing Seaholm to only rush 3 and still apply pressure
- Can bend around tackles
- Will dominate slow tackles
- Also plays center
- Overall an extremely gritty, aggressive, hard-nosed player
