Mason has been one of the biggest risers on the offseason recruiting trail and will be looking to earn his first all-state selection in the fall. The recent BYU-commit turned in a productive junior season totaling 102 tackles (76 solo), 2 INTs, and 10 TFLs. He’s a long, rangy safety at 6’3″/190 that can stuff the box in run support and play in space around the third level. He’s physical, can make plays on the ball, and tackles at a high clip. Mason should be in the all-state conversation at the end of the 2025 season.
Mason has a full slate of OVs scheduled with Arizona St. (6/6), BYU (6/12), San Diego St. (6/17), and UNLV (6/20) for this month. The rising DB out of Faith Lutheran just narrowed down his top four to Boise St., UNLV, BYU, and San Diego St. this past week after breaking out on the recruiting scene this offseason. He rose into the overall top-15 and #4-DB spot in PRZ NV’s 2026 rankings with the productive junior season he put together for Faith Lutheran (102 total tackles, 2 INTs, 10 TFLs). Mason’s one of the top DB prospects in the state holding over 20 D-I offers.
Mason continued his ascent as one of the biggest 2026 offseason stock risers after adding another 10 D-I offers this month, including four from Mountain West programs. The 6’2″/170 junior put his name on the radar with the combination of length, range, physicality, and high-level production he put on display in the fall. Mason now holds a total of 14 offers including Washington St., UNLV, San Diego St., and San Jose St., among others.
Mason picked up his first set of offers from UNLV, Nevada, and Northern Arizona this month. PRZ NV’s #5-DB in the 2026 class put together a breakout junior season with 102 total tackles (76 solo), 10 TFLs, and 2 INTs for Faith Lutheran. He’s a lengthy, physical S with all the physical tools required to play the position at the D-I level. Mason’s stock is trending up early into the offseason cycle.
Mason recorded 18 solo tackles and 5 TFLs in Faith Lutheran’s 5A D-II state semifinal win over Shadow Ridge. The versatile junior showed his physicality as a tackler around the end of the LOS and made a highlight hustle-play from across the field to save a TD. Mason’s a lanky but physical defender with promising length and ability to tackle on the perimeter. The Southern League champs will take on Northern champ Bishop Manogue in the 5A D-II final this Saturday at McQueen HS.
Mason was a standout producer for Faith Lutheran’s defense, totaling 104 tackles, 6 TFLs, and an INT this season. He’s a fearless, aggressive tackler that shows no hesitation closing space downhill and finishes physically through ball-carriers. He shows flashes of range and natural length (6’2”/170) in deep, middle-field coverage but is at his best when attacking the short-intermediate area downhill. Mason offers upside at this stage in his physical nature and pure effort/commitment as a tackler, especially as he continues to fill out and develop.
