In my eyes, we saved the best two gunslingers we saw at Dakota Bowl XXXIII for last, as Mason Palmer Mason Palmer 6'0" | 173 lbs | ATH/QB Devils Lake | 2026 State ND was one I was fired up about in my live eval on Friday night in the 11AA state championship game as Mason and the Firebirds won their first ever state championship. The amount of balance that Mason played with his throws out of the pocket were something to watch especially on his passing touchdowns I watched. He seemed to always have the proper velocity on his throws from what I watched from him on passing downs as he was one that I felt was the most comfortable quarterback I watched all day throwing from out of the pocket. The 6’0 173 pounder has reported baseball offers, but man I would love to see Mason get a shot from an NSIC school for football and the college coaches I talked to were really impressed with this young man as well as he and the Firebirds shook North Dakota in 11AA and Mason was named 11AA Player of the Year. He certainly will go up our rankings quite a bit this winter.

A quarterback that has started to grow on me during this camp season has been 2026 Mason Palmer Mason Palmer 6'0" | 173 lbs | ATH/QB Devils Lake | 2026 State ND out of Devils Lake. The 6’0 173 pounder is more efficent on intemediate and deep routes than his tape probably gives him credit for as the chunk of the reps I have seen at camps have paid dividends going into his senior season. There’s also a lot to like about his precison on those throws, as the ball fits right between his wide receiver and the end zone. I can tell the read speed for Mason is getting faster this summer, as he seemed to get the ball out quicker the deeper we got into camp season. Has one baseball offer he got this week, but still waiting on his first football offer.

One 2026 quarterback I am glad I got a live eval on last Saturday is Devils Lake’s Mason Palmer Mason Palmer 6'0" | 173 lbs | ATH/QB Devils Lake | 2026 State ND . I couldn’t find much much tape pre-showcase, but the live eval showed off a quarterback that has a live arm, and more polished in the pocket than I had expected. Mason also shows off well-versed balance on his touch throws on intermediate and deep routes. You could also gauge the mechanics that Mason showed off had a fluidity to them and again, brought the balance I wanted to see during the live eval. Mason also amongst the best in the QB group with the change of direction drills in testing, the pro agility (4.47), and L-drill (7.43) and in the top tier in broad jump (9’1). Mason is one that needs to get his tape up and out there swiftly, as he surely looks one that has the skillsets to play on Saturdays.
