Expert Analysis
Matt DeBary | Prep Redzone Scout
A big-play receiver who can make a contested catch down the field, Knight is a jump-ball weapon with strong hands, allowing him to secure the catch it in tight coverage. He’s a weapon vertically with above-average athleticism and an easy Power Four frame at 6-foot-2 175-pounds. He was one of the more gifted 2027 receivers in the Savannah area last season and one of the more productive across the region, catching 46 passes for 780 yards and 13 touchdowns. His recruitment is picking up and more D1 offers are likely heading his way. Knight is clearly one of the top returning receivers in Savannah for the 2026 season.

A sleeper receiver down in Savannah, Knight is a playmaking wideout who has no problem making a big catch over a defender. He shows good body control, high-points the football, and can come up with a tough catch in traffic. He can get open, locates zone coverage, and has been a consistent weapon all year long for the Calvary Day passing attack. He’s caught 22 passes so far this season for 438 yards and seven touchdowns. He’s scored a touchdown in every game but one so far and is averaging an impressive 20 yards per catch. He’s heading for All-Region honors if he continues to play at this level over the next several weeks. He’ll also be added to the next 2027 Prep Redzone rankings.

Like Rasheen Jackson above, Marlon Knight was another late addition to the North Carolina Future Stars team, and also hails from Savannah, Georgia. Knight immediately caught my eye at one of the last practices because of his size and length–about 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds. Watching him move around I thought he would make a splash as a wide receiver or even at tight end. However, when the games came around, he made a number of plays as an edge defender. He’s not quite there yet, but there’s a lot of physical tools to work with. With continued development, I can easily see him playing on Saturday’s in four years.
