Robert Davis | Prep Redzone Scout
Snyder has shown that he can handle the big stage, especially in tough matchups. In Columbine’s last meeting with Ralston Valley, he carried the ball 29 times for 148 yards and two touchdowns in a gritty performance that kept his team competitive. Snyder runs with purpose, combining physicality with excellent field awareness. He thrives on contact, wearing down defenses as the game progresses. For Columbine to advance, Snyder will need another standout showing against one of the most complete teams in 5A. His workhorse mentality and ability to find seams in traffic make him a player who can tilt the outcome in a playoff atmosphere that will be rocking.

The senior running back led the way for Columbine in round 1. The 6’2 195-pound running back had 22 carries for 185 yards and 2 touchdowns. Snyder has very good athletic ability due to elite balance, very good acceleration, speed, and good change of direction. He is a power back that thrives with a lot of carries and contact. Very good vision and anticipation when getting the ball. Very good inside running, good outside runner. He consistently gets yards after contact. Very good trucking and stiff arm. Snyder has a powerful core and strong legs to churn forward, and drag defenders with him. Snyder is a very durable running back, and takes multiple hits yet still churns on. He will continue his dominating streak into round 2.

Snyder is a physical bruising running back. At 6’2 195-pounds, he had 186 carries for 1471 yards with 20 touchdowns (5th), 43 total tackles (35 solo, 8 assisted) and 7 PD. He has very good athletic ability due to elite balance, very good speed, acceleration, and change of direction. Snyder is a downhill runner. He has a very good quick start. Uses his very good vision to find holes when EVERYTHING is covered. With his balance, he consistently gains yardage after contact, either breaking free or running through them. Powerful legs to churn forward in a sea of people. He even hurdled over a LB! Utilizes his very good inside and outside running paired with home run speed to thrash the defense. Snyder has a powerful stiff arm and throws the defenders around with ease. He thrives with contact. Keep an eye out of this running back. I believe he would fit perfectly in the Air Force’s Wing-T scheme, due to Columbine’s play style.

Snyder is a player poised for a breakout year and figures to get majority of the carries. His background in track is evident when he reaches the open field, effortlessly pulling away from defenders with breakaway speed. Snyder is far from just a finesse back, he is more than capable of running through defenders and attacking the line of scrimmage with decisiveness and reaching the second and third levels quickly. His combination of strength and speed makes him one of the more dynamic backs to watch. He has the potential to be a major stock-riser this offseason as I expect him to make a strong case as one of the premier backs in the area.

Snyder had a massive game for Columbine. The 6’2 195-pound junior carried the ball 14 times for 174 yards and 3 touchdowns. Snyder used his athleticism to run around and juke defenders out. He has very good acceleration, speed, and good change of direction. He would use his change of direction to juke out defenders either at the line of scrimmage or out in space. He used his good mental processing in the read option game. He’d read the defender and either hand it to Basinger for a big gain, or run it himself. His longest rush was 80 yards. Snyder also has very good vision. He would identify the correct holes, and then use his elusiveness to slip through the offensive line. Great rushing performance from Snyder.
