Expert Analysis
Paul Gregorian | Prep Redzone Scout
Jennings is one of the top 2029 defensive lineman in the state and is coming off a very nice freshman season campaign in the WCAL playing against top talent. He is a big framed prospect that is strong at the point, snaps out of his stance and sets his hands quickly while able to reset the line and press into the backfield with leverage and a proper fit. He is twitchy when changing direction, moves well in space and is a high motor kid with a variety of pass rush moves in his toolbox and can eat blocks, rush off the corner and is a very balanced player on the edge. He has one offer from New Mexico and should really blow up next off-season and see plenty more FBS schools come through.

Jennings is a force off the edge with a solid 6’2” 230 lb. frame. He’s well-balanced with a strong lower half and natural power at the POA. Flashes good natural movement skills with the bend and short area burst in pursuit. He’s a tough block with active hand usage and converting speed to power to disengage and free himself up. Plus initial quickness out of his stance to beat blockers to the spot and gain leverage before they can set up. Diagnoses the play and locates the football early in the rep to chase. Heavy body tackler that is tough to break once he gets his hands on the ball carrier. Ranked inside the top 50 overall and picked up his initial college offer from New Mexico with many more on the way.

Jennings is a true 4 down edge player for Mitty but could find his home inside at the next level as he continues to grow and develop as a pass rusher. He has a huge frame for his age, strong hands and tons of initial power at the POA with active and violent hands, bend around the corner and solid athleticism/change of direction in space when collapsing the pocket. He should only continue to develop his toolbox of moves and overall twitch/movement abilities and projects as a big time FBS talent across the defensive front either inside or as a edge player. Jennings is a key name to note across the WCAL heading into next season and should have a breakout year for the Monarchs.

, Coyote Creek made it all the way to the 14U Pop Warner Super Bowl this past season. Jennings was a significant reason for the team’s success up front, as he played Offensive Tackle and Edge on the defensive side. Built more like a Tight End than an Offensive Tackle, he’ll get plenty of reps on offensive side of the ball, but Jennings butters his bread as a promising Edge player. Looks more natural as a stand up rusher, but also put his hand in the dirt from time to time as well. Love his hands when he gets the Offensive Tackle on an island–specifically his two-handed swat.
