. Luke participated primarily as an LB during the Winona State camp where he checked in at 5’9″ 195 lbs, ran a 5.26 40, 4.93 shuttle, 8′ broad jump, and a 7.50 L-Drill. What I noticed most is that Luke actually played much more fluid and quick than those numbers might suggest.
Once the pads went on Luke seemed to flip a switch. He showed that he can play on light feet, sliding laterally and changing direction in drills. The LB also had several strong reps in pass coverage. Against quick passes the ’27 LB was able to flex an effective closing burst to the RB or TE. He also demonstrated that he could be extremely disruptive at the catch point to break up passes with accurate hands and good timing. The versatile 2027 is someone to keep an eye on this summer and into the 2026 season.
Luke ended 2025 as his team’s leading tackler on defense while also contributing some touches at RB on offense. The ’27 LB may be undersized for the position, but that didn’t stop him from bullying his way to 92 tackles and 15 TFLs last year. The soon to be senior was really good against the inside run game. He would use leverage and power to plow through gaps or blockers to meet RBs with strong tackles. The ’27 LB has been able to power his way to a lot of disruption at or behind the line of scrimmage.
