With a regional OL MVP to his name, Lucas Spadano came and showed many positive traits necessary to play offensive line. Spadano did a great job staying in front of his matchups and moving laterally. Additionally, I saw him take his sets with low hands and even better bend. This posturing made Spadano extremely difficult to work under. This, combined with his aforementioned lateral speed, has Spadano profiled as an outstanding high school-ready guard.

Height limitations will label him an interior offensive lineman. I’d call his performance a top three interior performer post camp. I wonder if Dexter Southfield will explore him at IDL.

Lucas Spadano is a 2030 out of New England who plays in the trenches. He has excellent size, strong fella and is someone who can cause problems for other teams in the trenches. He is a player who can benefit his team in big ways on the offensive and defensive lines. He is a player to watch for during the “RIZE” in New Jersey!

Lucas Spadano delivered one of the most impressive individual performances of the young class at the recent Prep Red Zone NEXT showcase. At just 6’1″ and a compact, powerful 250 pounds, Spadano consistently stood out in both individual position drills and competitive one-on-one reps. Spadano showed the ability to mirror and redirect with short, choppy steps that allowed him to stay engaged through contact. He routinely controlled the point of attack, resetting opponents’ hands and creating leverage advantages. Whether asked to drive block in the run game or set and anchor in pass pro, Spadano showed no noticeable drop-off in effectiveness. He dominated the majority of his competitive reps. Spadano won with power at the point of attack, countered with quickness on the edge, and displayed strong hand usage to disengage or redirect rushers. His physicality and football IQ allowed him to win consistently against peers in the session. Spadano plays with a natural leverage and pad level that belies his youth. He fires off low and square, maintains balance through contact, and finishes reps with intent. His frame is already thick and filled out through the lower half and core, giving him a functional power base that translates immediately in the trenches.
