Northern Guilford | 2028 StateNC
is coming off one of the most productive sophomore seasons by any defensive back in the state. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound prospect recorded six interceptions and 60 tackles, showcasing his ability to make game-changing plays while also being a reliable open-field tackler. His combination of length, instincts, and athleticism makes him one of the top young defensive backs in North Carolina.
Hilliard is a true playmaker who can run, deliver big hits, and create turnovers. His range and ball skills allow him to impact the game from anywhere in the secondary, and with another offseason of development, he has all the tools to emerge as one of the state’s premier defensive prospects in the Class of 2028.
Hilliard is an instinctive player with excellent ball skills and the knack for being in the right place at the right time. He’s not the most physically imposing safety you’ll ever find, but he’s put on some weight this offseason, and he hits the physical thresholds we’re looking for in a 2028 safety prospect. This will be a key offseason in his development, as he looks to go from a talented high school to a true Division 1 safety prospect.
Hilliard was at his best for Northern Guilford when the lights were brightest, and he picked off two of his six passes in a key regional semifinal game against Ashbrook. He led the conference with six picks and finished with 60 tackles from his safety position. He has the chance to move up in our rankings next season as the Nighthawks’ defense loses several key contributors, making Hilliard the team’s leading returning tackler.
