Amare lists a 4.55 40-yard dash on his twitter profile, and that translates well on his highlight film. Amare was a productive player last season, and should continue to improve on that production going into his senior year. Amare shows good patience and vision pressing the hole, and knows when to accelerate, hit full speed, and run to daylight. Amare does an excellent job of using his blockers and cutting off of them as well.

Akers was a bit boom-or-bust as a runner in 2024, as his game stats tended to be heavily influenced by whether or not he was able to break off a chunk run. We’re okay with that, as he thrives in the open field and created plenty of explosive plays on the ground. That moved him into the rankings and with some more down-to-down consistency, he could move even higher in the next update.

Akers didn’t get the recognition he probably deserved after a breakout junior season, but he’s going to turn heads as a senior. He has good vision and the ability to find open space once he gets through the hole, allowing him to break off some big runs. He has good long speed and is developing lateral quickness to beat linebackers in the hole. As he continues to develop, he’s one to watch and a candidate to jump into our rankings in the summer.

I really liked looking at Amare’s film, he is an excellent running back with his size, showing good speed and vision with the football in his hands. Per his Twitter, he lists his 40-yard time as 4.55 seconds, and his film backs it up. Amare shows some power in his film as well, running through tackles on a couple of plays. I am going to be excited to see him start the season – with a good beginning to the season, I think he could generate some recruiting interest his way.
