He is able to find seams and blocks to utilize. Logan is at his best when he can use either power/balance or short area agility/burst. Hanson is able to juke and jump cut to separate himself from the defense. He can rip through tackle attempts while keeping his balance too. The senior’s tape shows a player with a knack for creating something out of nothing. Logan will be the key to the ground game on Saturday.

The 5’10” 200 lbs athlete is coming off 1,500+ total yards and 25 TDs, so I’m excited to see how he follows that up. After watching the tape I am intrigued by the junior’s combination of power and elusiveness. Logan can run behind his pads, break tackles, and pick up yards after contact between the tackles. He can also make defenders completely whiff in those same tight quarters or out in space. His instincts with the ball in his hands for ways to create yards is fun to watch. I’m looking forward to his final campaign.

Every time I scout at one of these Showcases there is always a player or two who grab my attention when I wasn’t necessarily looking for them. It isn’t just once or twice. It is over and over, and it forces me to remember the athlete long after the Showcase ends. The first way that Logan grabbed my attention was with his frame, and build. Hanson’s official numbers are 5’9 1/4″ 193 lbs. Imagine a ball of muscle, and you will have a mental image close to the frame of Logan. He was definitely one of the more impressive athletes when it came to the eye test.

The junior also tested really well in his short area explosiveness and change of direction. Logan had one of the best, if not the best, shuttle time of 4.25 seconds. You don’t put up elite numbers like that without excellent body control, change of direction, and burst. The one on one battles gave me the final proof of those traits. Hanson was at his best in short areas. He flew out of his cuts, and was able to create separation from the defender. Keep an eye on the junior next fall. He scored 25 times in 2022.
