was chomping at the bit to go against his old team in Colgan. Being on the sidelines I could see the emotion as Richards had two rushing touchdowns and several tackle for losses. Richards is playing at a high level at both running back and linebacker for the Red wolves who certainly made a statement Friday night.

was a Division 1 bound prospect for a couple of years. He just recently made that the case with his commitment to the Hampton Pirates! Hampton was the most recent institution to offer him and they must of made a good impression. Richards has been one of the best prospects in Virginia dating back to his sophomore season. Whether it be at linebacker or running back, Hampton should know they are getting a highly talented player. Congrats to LJ and his family, really like this fit for him and think he can play their right away.

picked up the Pirates offer this past weekend. The Colgan transfer is off to a great start for the Red Wolves and I firmly believe he is an FCS level or higher talent. Gar Field sure will need him on both sides making plays Friday night, when they face the dangerous North Stafford Wolverines.

A versatile LB for Garfield who can align in a stacked position or on the Edge. On tape, he shows the ability to defend the inside run, the outside run, and pass rush. He does a good job of using his eyes to look through the blockers and to keep himself in the backfield while navigating traffic and shedding blocks. He is a strong, dependable tackler and attacks the ball with multiple forced fumbles on tape. While his future is at the Linebacker position, his Running Back tape shows how strong and physically tough LJ is. He loves contact and can keep his feet through multiple defenders and gain positive yards. Currently holds offers from Norfolk State and Ferrum College.

transferred early in the off-season to Gar-Field in a big conference shakeup. Possibly the best prospect in the Cardinal district, Richards has been a play making running back and a sideline to sideline linebacker. Lining him up next to Nelson defensively should boost the Red Wolves, it is scary to think about the potential of this entire defense to be honest. LJ recently and long overdue I might add picked up his first offer from Norfolk State. He remains one of of top remaining uncommitted prospects for the 2026 class.

looks elite and really deserves a some offers. Both at running back and linebacker his presence and skill set make him always standout. He was one of the best players in a loaded group at Dumfries. An all conference performer the past couple of seasons for Colgan, Richards is set add a weapon for the Red Wolves on both sides of the football.

. To catch you up to speed, Richards was a first team All Cardinal District selection as a junior for Colgan and should be primed for a rankings boost with our 2026 class. Regardless of where he ends up next the young man has all the traits to play at the next level. The All Region linebacker tallied over 100 tackles last fall, in Coach Overton’s defense those number can grow even higher.

is an elite playmaker at both running back and linebacker, he has been the past two years over in Manassas. Richards was first team all Cardinal district on both sides, its his work at linebacker that really stands out in my opinion. His ridiculous stat line of 105 tackles, 6 sacks and 1 interception nearly carried his squad to a playoff birth. The young man can do a little bit of everything and is poised to get more interest from schools this off-season. I prefer his work at linebacker, but I could see him playing safety or even defensive end at the next level.

is breaking school records it seems weekly at this point. He had five total touchdowns against Hylton including 3 on the ground, Richards is their go to back. Quite the evening for our top ranked linebacker, he also added a pick six to his state line as well.

was a major reason why. Offensively he went well over the 100 yard rushing mark on the ground with 1 score averaging 6.4 yards per carry.
Defensively he was everywhere for the Sharks, accounting for 10 tackles and 3 sacks, he really showed off his speed in this contest. Osbourn had been coming off a major offensive output the week before, Richards and company held the Eagles to 7 points.
