Expert Analysis
Bryan Ault | Prep Redzone Scout
Leslie Woodson, who bears familial relations to NFL Hall of Famer Rod Woodson, is developing into a top prosect. Very athletic 6-foot-4, 215-pound edge prospect with a high ceiling. Great motor, takes great pursuit angles both as a pass rusher and v. run. Rangy and a good block shedder, plays with good bend and leverage, very good use-of-hands. Strikes me as a high-character player. In-person he is also very kind, humble, and has a hungry personality. Very coachable prospect with high upside.

Leslie Woodson continues to see his recruiting grow. Expect Power 4 teams to take a look at him at his school’s upcoming college day as he has earned offers from Toledo, Northern Illinois, and Western Michigan over the past couple of weeks. Woodson’s size, arm length and athleticism are very appealing for college coaches. Woodson is a very disruptive edge prospect with a high ceiling, great in pursuit, strong as a pass rusher, stout against the run and a good block shedder who plays with good bend.

Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan are the first offers for the 6-foot-4, 220-pound edge from North Side. I expect

to start garnering Power 4 attention soon. His size, frame, and speed are just too hard to ignore. Like the previous two mentioned on this list, Woodson is a dynamic pass rusher with tremendous edge speed, a high-motored defensive end who takes great pursuit angles and wraps up. He is also very good against the run, sets a vertical edge and can shed blocks; plays with good bend and leverage.

Woodson is a quick and physical EDGE who can be effective in both the running and passing games. He’s able to create pressure and be in the backfield immediately. He’s got long strides and can run down the ballcarrier from behind. He reads his keys and stays disciplined, holding the edge to force the ball back inside if he can’t get there to make the play. You can tell he trusts the guys around him, which lets him play his game. He’ll attack the ball and try ripping it out if given the chance. His 60 tackles, 18 TFLs, 8 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 2 recovered fumbles set the scene for what he can do on the field. The talent and production are ther,e which is why he’s recently picked up his first offer from Bowling Green.
