from Columbus Africentric is a strong, tough, between-the tackles runner who frequently requires multiple defenders to bring him down. Hairston has a muscular, compact frame that he uses to run over would-be tackles and bounce off linebackers like a pinball. As a linebacker he is a proven pass rusher and wrap-up tackler, having recorded 83 tackles and 4 sacks and two forced fumbles lsat season. On offense, he added 461 yards and three touchdowns.

Still raw from a running standpoint but has some skills. Needs to work on COD, but flashes good top-end if he finds a crease and ability to run through contact. Name to monitor. Breakout sophomore season will boost his recruiting.

Hairston took over the running back position for Africentric in the middle of the season, and the freshman made his mark in the Columbus City League as they went 6-1 with him starting after a 1-3 start. Hairston is a great straight-line runner who can one-cut his way to a long gain. He can muscle forward for extra yards with a good pad level. With experience and development, Hairston can solidify himself as one of the best ball carriers in Columbus in the near future.

Another bigger back that had a similar skill set to Harris. Hairston was another Ohio guy who was very powerful when running the ball and had great strides when seeing open field. Seeing him and Harris in the backfield at the same time was a scary sight. Overall a great running back with a good build that can breaks tackles and also has the speed to make a big run in open field.
- Big RB
- good vision
- Strong and powerful

– Played for Columbus Dream this season and was one of only a handful of kids selected from teams that were not at AYF Nationals in December
– Without knowing he even played for an AYF-sanctioned team, I wrote about him a few months ago after watching his film.
– Checks a lot of boxes in terms of speed and catching the ball out of the backfield. Also showed a ton of peer-to-peer leadership as a team captain this year

on the Columbus Ice 14U team, Hairston stole the show in film of a recent victory. The 5-foot-8, 155-pound running back went off to the tune of three touchdowns (and a fourth one called back) in addition to a number of big tackles as a linebacker, in a 30-0 victory. He’s a decisive back who doesn’t waste time dancing, opting rather to stick his foot in the ground and get vertical in short order. That’s not to say he doesn’t have the agility and ability to shake defenders one-on-one in the hole, but he’s a back that’s going to take what the line gives him and executes. Another thing I picked up on in the film, in which he mic’d up for, is the overwhelming positivity he brings to his teammates and the field. His leadership skills can be heard seen and heard. From being a team captain, to telling his teammates to watch the language and even giving props to the other team for a good tackle. Like I said for Jackson, I look forward to seeing more film on him and would be interested to see what his speed numbers are like. Nonetheless, at this stage of the game there is a ability here and I’m intrigued to see he develops.
