I was really impressed by the play of senior QB

. He has made big strides from where he was as a junior and is going to be on the rise when we update rankings after the season. Landon has a big frame that also comes loaded with arm talent. Landon has always had a pretty big arm, but watching him this week it is clear he has taken a step forward in that department. He was able to fire the ball into tiny windows where the ball had to get there right now and Landon had the velocity to get it done. The uncommitted senior’s accuracy was impressive too. It was his ability to attack every level with that arm strength and accuracy that was so great to see. He was hitting receivers in stride, dropping the ball in a bucket over a shoulder, and firing it into tight windows all night. The pocket passer definitely needs more looks. Size, development, production, and talent are all there.

An incoming senior QB coming out of WI who has been putting in the work this offseason since his first year as the varsity starter ended is

. The 6’4″ 202 lbs QB is a pocket passer with noteworthy arm talent. Landon is a raw prospect who is making strides in his game. He looks the part with his tall frame and high release point. The zip that the ball comes out of his hand with also looks the part of a college QB. When he needs to, Landon can really step into his passes and put them on a frozen rope 25+ yards downfield. His ability to push the ball downfield while also remaining accurate are the keys to his success. I’m excited to see how he continues to develop leading into his senior season.

The top junior QB in attendance was Greendale’s starter

. Landon has the prototypical pocket passer build needed to scan the field from the pocket. He weighed in at just a hair under 6’4″ and 205 lbs. Lopez also added a 5.03 40, 4.78 shuttle, and an 8’3″ broad jump. Those results match what we see on tape. What we came to see with Landon was the arm talent.
Starting in the drills is when Landon started stepping out from the crowd. Landon was able to demonstrate an arm for the next level. He was able to drive the ball on short to intermediate throws, beating closing DBs. The junior also showed off impressive touch when he went downfield or threw out breaking routes. In those situations he dropped the ball into place for his WR to go high point it or run underneath it. It was a good showing from the junior. Check out some clips in the tweet below.

Landon first put himself on our radars at a previous Showcase. Back before he had been a varsity starter. He impressed with natural arm talent and a frame that was sure to grow into a prototypical one. Now he is back at 6’4″ 210 lbs and with his first year as a varsity starter under his belt. I love getting to see QBs in person. That is where you get a true feel for the arm talent they have. You can see and hear the ball coming out of their hand compared to others. I’m excited to see Landon after this past year of development and experience.

Stats: 15/23, 325 Yards, 6 TDsrnI have anxiously been waiting to see game film of the junior signal caller since he broke out at the last Prep Redzone WI Showcase. Landon has great size for the position at 6’4″ 205 lbs. Despite his big frame, Landon has a quick release. He does a good job of using his lower body to create the torque to get velocity on the ball. Even when outside the pocket you see the hips flip and the ball jump out of his hand. Lopez was very aggressive in Week Two. Accurately pushing the ball to level two and three of the field. Greendale needed every bit of his big time throws too to pull off the 48-40 victory. Coaches, if you are going to be adding to your QB rooms in the Class of 2025 make sure to give this kid a look. There is a lot to work with.

A player who had a breakout day is the Greendale sophomore QB. He will be looking to take over the starting job this fall, and based off what we saw Saturday it looks like he has the tools to succeed. Lopez has the necessary size and then some at 6’4″ 200 lbs. Landon is a raw prospect, but his arm is going to excite and catch the attention of the next level. Landon was pushing for strongest arm of the day. He put the ball all over the field with ease and with velocity. Where he is raw is in his footwork, but I have very high hopes for his potential because he turned the coaching he received into action and instant results. The big man is coachable, has a live arm, and the size to succeed. I have a feeling he is going to breakout this fall.
