Germantown is a team that wins with physicality. They will grind out games, and play with grit. To do that you need to win in the trenches. On offense, the leader of the OL group is senior Lance Walters Lance Walters 6'3" | 295 lbs | OL Germantown | 2024 State WI . Lance is a big athlete, and he has solid strength to match the size. Together he uses that to overpower DL in the run game. He is able to get positive movement off the line or laterally and open up running lanes. We will need to see more of that for Germantown to continue their hot streak.

Another massive OL from Washington County is the Germantown OG. Lance stands at 6’3″ 295 lbs with a 6’8″ wingspan. He uses that size to be an impact run blocker. Lance has the short area burst to be able to get out of his stance and make first contact consistently. Once he clamps his big, heavy hands onto his man Lance is able to run his man off the line. Walters plays with solid flexibility and bend in his knees to get leverage. Where I think he can take a step up in his game is with his body control. On tape, you see him go to the ground with blocks, but if he can start to finish those from his feet and continue the play he will be an even more impressive OL. He is definitely a D3 prospect with potential to be more.

Our final athlete of the article is the heavy handed, powerful OG out of Germantown HS. The 6’3″ 290 lbs junior is an absolute bulldozer in the run game. He will put kids in the dirt instantly, or run them 15 yards off the ball, and then bury them into the dirt. Walters plays with that dominant, tenacious demeanor you want in the trenches. His hands use is consistently strong. He always makes first contact with his heavy hands, and that allows him to control his man the rest of the play. I’m excited to see him this fall. If he can continue to develop foot quickness he could make a huge jump in his play, and next level interest. An athlete to follow along with this fall.
