It is great to see Kyler back on the field after his injured junior season. He got things started on a positive note Friday night. The senior did a good job of keeping everything in front of him, seeing the football and attacking it. He was quick to come downhill and make tackles against the run or short passing game. In coverage there is an impressive rep in his tape where he sees the QB targeting a receiver he isn’t covering, but has the range to come off his man and go break up the pass with perfectly timed hands. Keep an eye on the senior as he builds his stock with his senior DB tape.

The 5’11” sophomore DB made a name for himself in 2022. He finished with 7 PBUs, and 3 INTs on the way to a Honorable Mention All Conference finish. Kyler’s three INTs all show off his processing and closing speed. Each one shows him flying downhill and jumping the route. His ability to read everything in front of him and react in a timely manner tells me that he could develop into a solid safety prospect. This season I want to see him take the next step in the physical side of the DB position. Primarily tackling and run support. I’m looking forward to his junior season.
