Before we begin camp season, I have eight more athletes from the great state of Wisconsin that I want to break down. It is a group full of under the radar talent, and underclassmen to know. Let’s get it started with a QB ready to take over the varsity job at Waukesha South.
The 5’11” 165 lbs junior is set to take over the helm at Waukesha South this fall. Now Hector doesn’t have the usual size at the position, but he has caught my eyes this offseason. He had a good day at our previous PRZ WI Showcase. Despite his size, Hector proved that he could generate a solid amount of velocity behind the ball. Watching through his QB Only Highlights you will see more of that solid arm. He gets the ball downfield with pressure in his face and without his feet set. He delivered the ball on the run, and his touch to be able to drop the ball in over the top of defenders and in a bucket for his receiver stands out. The D3 level should have him on their radars heading into the season.

Kameron Burns
Kameron Burns
A name to know for this recruiting cycle among D2 schools is the OL out of Racine Case. Kameron has an excellent frame, overall size, and length at 6’4″ 285 lbs. On tape, Burns’ anchor strength stands out. He took on bull rushers and blitzers and was able to stuff them and maintain the pocket for the QB. The big man is also quite the athlete. He offers the range to be able to get out in space or downfield and land impactful blocks. His short area agility also keys his success on the interior as he mirrors defenders. Give him a look. He should have an impressive camp season. Check out the tape below.
Coaches, get this 6’1″ 180 lbs sophomore DB on your radar early. He is already proving to be a very versatile safety prospect. Braxton lines up deep, in the slot, and over TEs while they are lined up inline. While lined up deep, Murphy has highlights showing off next level range and awareness/intelligence to read the QB and routes developing. When he drops down and plays man coverage, Braxton has loose hips to be able to smoothly turn and run with receivers, and he has the speed to be able to run with them and recover if separation is opened up. I’m looking for a breakout year this fall from the soon to be junior.
A current under the radar 2024 is the 6’2″ 210 lbs ILB out of Fond du Lac HS. Corbin’s tape shows a high IQ defender. He reads and moves with the flow of the OL while maintaining his gap really well. Hanrahan is also able to pick through the trash that clutters the trenches while doing so as well. Corbin attacks downhill when he reads run making it hard for OL to get in position to get hands on him. To top it all off, Corbin’s tackling ensures that the play is over when he wraps up ball carriers. He should be on the radars for D2/D3s right now.
The 6’5″ 200 lbs WR/TE is a raw prospect with tools to develop. He has all the length you could want in a big target. He has soft hands so he can catch the ball away from his body. That gives him the ability to always create separation from DBs no matter how well they cover him. Eli has experience lining up tight to the line and out wide. We also see Neal make a lot of concentration catches in traffic because Christian Life likes to use him to go over the middle of the defense. I’m looking forward to seeing how Eli develops over this offseason.
The two way standout played at 6′ 190 lbs. He is now listed at 6’1″ 210 lbs. That extra size is only going to make him harder to slow down on offense. At FB, Blake is used to attack north-south. He uses his short area/lateral agility to shake defenders, otherwise he uses power to run right through arm tackles or his burst to accelerate through lanes before the second level can close on him. Once in the open field he has superior speed to break off big gains.
I’m more excited to see how the soon to be senior looks at LB with that bigger frame. He already was a stout run defender at ILB with the strength to fight off blocks and make tackles at the line. If he can maintain his range at his size he will be an intriguing LB prospect. Check out his 2022 below.
The 5’10” 150 lbs DB put together an All Area performance at DB in 2022. He had 9 PBUs, and 5 INTs (returning 1 for a TD), and added 41 tackles. In his highlights, we see Luke playing a lot of zone. In those scenarios it is clear that he trusts his athleticism. He baits QBs, quickly identifies receivers entering his area, and has the change of direction and burst to be able to react to what he reads and make plays on the ball. The ball hawk is aggressive at the catch point too. The timing of his hands, closing speed, and all out effort keyed his PBUs, and INTs. Give him a look below.
Highlights
The 5’11” sophomore DB made a name for himself in 2022. He finished with 7 PBUs, and 3 INTs on the way to a Honorable Mention All Conference finish. Kyler’s three INTs all show off his processing and closing speed. Each one shows him flying downhill and jumping the route. His ability to read everything in front of him and react in a timely manner tells me that he could develop into a solid safety prospect. This season I want to see him take the next step in the physical side of the DB position. Primarily tackling and run support. I’m looking forward to his junior season.
