Expert Analysis

All night, Kelvie was accurate, throwing short balls on the move. He showed nice touch on a pass down the sidelines for a touchdown. He threw another rollout pass down to the one-yard line. He hit a deep out to pick up a first down. He picked up yards with his feet, too. He scrambled for a first down, picked up good yardage up the middle on a quarterback draw, and ran the option well – making a pitch just as he was hit.

Ky is a Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase alum that although is not the biggest quarterback on the field plays with good attention to detail that college coaches want to see out of camp reps. I didn’t get Ky’s 40 yard dash numbers from Saturday, but from the reps I watched for his size Ky ran with a great base of fluidity and finish from the rep I caught in testing. Ky is super persistent on throwing from the run with pressure in his face however has great poise with a quick release. He also shows off good precision within his ball placement and is a consistent ball-thrower on intermediate routes. Ky is certainly a prospect with potential, as when you watch him on tape he deals with pressure in the backfield and still always finds a way to advance the ball quickly for positive yardage. Although he might not fit the mold size-wise for the QB position, I would put Ky in the category that you go outside the measurables threeshold for especially at the Division III level as Ky also has a outstanding 3.98 GPA which shows that he has a quick learning curve to develop.
