2024 tight end Kooper Rich Kooper Rich 6'5" | 240 lbs | TE Ponca City | 2024 State OK has been a prospect we’ve written about for a little over a year now. After watching his sophomore film while playing 8-man football at Waynoka, we’ve been a fan of Rich’s game. He moved from Waynoka to Ponca City last offseason and transitioned from the 8-man game to 11-man football last fall. In addition to Cunningham, Rich is going to be another big target in the Wildcat passing game on offense. That is one thing that Ponca City is going to have an advantage in this season. They have a lot of size among their skill positions and once a player like Rich gets the ball in his hands, he’s tough to take down in a 1 on 1 situation. Rich also has shown the ability to play a little defense as well and with a young defensive unit, he could play on both sides this fall.

Rich was a fun athlete to watch on film. He is from Ponca City in the class of 2024 and is listed at 6’5″ 240 pounds. In the last two years of doing this film review, this is my first Ponca City player to evaluate and put eyes on and he didn’t disappoint. Rich finds open windows in the passing game and is able to throttle it down to make his catches. He is a physical blocker in the running game that can line up at H back, tight end, or split out. With his big frame, he is able to use his big body to shield the defenders away from him and the ball. He looks like a good possession receiver that will go get you the yards that are needed and does the dirty work you want out of your tight end in the run game. By splitting him out wide, he can attack smaller corners with screen passes and gain outside leverage for his ball carrier.

We did a series in March and April looking for prospects that were under the radar and came across Rich’s film from his sophomore season while playing 8-man ball at Waynoka. We’ve written quite a bit about his dominance against 8-man competition and you throw on the film and it’s hard not to be impressed. And as we wrote over the summer, we were looking forward to seeing how Rich would look as he moved up to not only 11-man football but 6A football with Ponca City. After somewhat of a slow start, the Wildcats are now winning. And in addition to being a standout tight end, we’re also starting to see him play a little on the defensive side of the ball. Something to keep an eye on with him moving forward.
