Kobe had a productive season, recording 58 tackles, two TFLs, two forced fumbles, and an interception. What stands out the most about Kobe’s game is how rangy he is from that deep safety position. He demonstrates the ability to get depth in coverage, effectively eliminating big plays over top and covering from sideline to sideline. Allen does a great job reading the QB’s eyes and displays an explosive burst when breaking on the ball. Kobe isn’t just a cover safety, showing a willingness to step into the box to help out against the run with the closing speed to get there in a hurry. Allen flashed solid tackling ability with the strength and technique to make secure tackles in the open field, which is always great to see in a DB.
