In the little bit that I caught of Khazhon Blake Khazhon Blake 6'1" | 160 lbs | DB Mergenthaler Vo-Tech | 2027 State MD , I thought that for a rising senior he had some maturing to do. I saw Blake get beat, which he clearly knew was the case, when defending at corner. Rather than competing through the play, Blake elected to give up on that play. Not a good decision on his part – especially given the number of college coaches present.

Blake Brings the Boom: Mervo’s Next Star in the Secondary

Blake makes his presence felt at the line of scrimmage, showcasing a fearless approach in run support and delivering tough hits on receivers after the catch. His physicality sets the tone early, but his impact doesn’t stop there.

Downfield, Blake proves to be a true obstacle for opposing offenses. He consistently flashes impressive ball skills and displays an instinctive ability to locate and secure passes deep down the field. Whether it’s a short-yardage situation or a one-on-one matchup on a go route, Blake shows up.

Now set to finish his high school career at public school powerhouse Mervo following a transfer from Concordia, Blake steps into a tradition of elite defensive backs. Mervo has recently been known for producing Division I talent in the secondary, and all eyes will be on Blake to see if he can live up to the hype and continue that legacy.
