Kelby Hampton He is a reclass Defensive Back from Pennsylvania who will make the trip north to compete at the prep school level. He is known for his length in his arms and his high level press man coverage abilities. Has good lower body strength that allows him to be very physical and competitive when pressing man to man.
He will surely be added to our class of 2025 rankings during the next update Summer 2024. Hampton had verbal offers from Merrimack, Monmouth, Sacred Heart, New Hampshire, Kent State to name a few, and will likely see additional offers roll in this spring and summer evaluation period. He is graded as a Div 1 Prospect.

Another former PRZPA Top100 player making the trip up North to the Salisbury School. You can make the easy case that there isn’t a bigger Kelby Hampton Kelby Hampton 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Salisbury School | 2025 State New E fan outside of myself. I’ve pounded the table for the young man and sent his tape far and wide, ultimately culminating with Hampton, who formerly suited up for La Salle College Prep, in seeing offers out of three FCS programs. Injury derailed what would have been a promising senior year in the PCL, a real shame we didn’t get to cover the kid for another Fall campaign over at PRZPA. Thankfully, Hampton is being given another shot to showcase to coaches that his skills haven’t diminished. Hampton, now a 2025 prospect, will help bulster a Salisbury secondary in need of experience. Coaches up North have already expressed interest in the past, it’s a matter of suring up those relationships on and off the field. Here’s the written analysis I’ve provided coaches in the past.rn
You can make the case that Hampton led the 2022 secondary in terms of talent, he will likely do so again this Fall. 6’2, 180, a frame that coaches drool over, especially for DBs. 5 FCS offers under his belt as of April this year, with his lone FBS offer coming from Kent State.Tape will show a DB that can align at the LOS to press and shoot his hands. His calling card is an obvious one, long limbs and physicality. Having him press wideouts is a no-brainer, the kid’s tape backs up this notion. Lower body strength and balance early in reps make him a tough DB to combat hand-to-hand at the LOS. Not going to say Hampton’s hips are going to rival the best corners on the East Coast, yet his feet can be counted on to limit false steps, ability to run and catch-up speed are certainly viable. Can play six-eight yards off the ball, yet I’m enamored with his ability to thwart WRs off track early. Solid ability to play the ball too. Contributor on special teams. I believe the Explorers have enough offensive weapons to not have Hampton play both sides of the ball. He’s a fit at safety too.

We begin with the top-ranked senior prospect deployed in the secondary by the La Salle College Explorers, that being Kelby Hampton Kelby Hampton 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Salisbury School | 2025 State New E . A highly-touted prospect due in large part to the fanfare we send Hampton’s way. That being said, all collegiate opportunities are brought in thanks to his phenomenal tape and skill set.

We can now rest assured that our eyes did not deceive us. The clamoring for validation in the form of offers for LaSalle College’s Kelby Hampton Kelby Hampton 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Salisbury School | 2025 State New E can finally be put to bed. His name is flowing through FCS and G5 recruiting boards as we speak. He cracks the top ten for a second consecutive ranking update, as we still like him as a premier talent in the state. Hampton is the fifth Philadelphia DB to be mentioned on this list and we are only at seven yet. The PCL is breeding DBs left and right. Hampton is the latest.

Very happy to be writing this one. Kelby Hampton Kelby Hampton 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Salisbury School | 2025 State New E is a name I have thrown at coaches for months, almost over a year now if I’m being honest. The exposure and ranking I provided Hampton isn’t a hand-out, his tape and work ethic speaks for itself. It was just a matter of someone seeing it. Thankfully, the floodgates have opened up for the DB. Since April 25th, Hampton has secured offers from Merrimack, Monmouth, Sacred Heart, New Hampshire, Kent State, and most recently Rhode Island. I’m a firm believer that this kid is an FBS prospect, but we will be happy being in this position! I expect more MAC schools to zero in on this kid sooner rather than later. The likes of Akron and Temple should be in on the young man.
