Kaukauna’s OL is going to be mauling defensive front sevens, and a big reason is the 6’3” 290 lbs OG. Kaukauna loves to get the defense running laterally with zone blocking, and Karson fits that well. He has proven to be light on his feet whether sticking his block while running laterally, pulling, or getting up to the second level. The big man is at his best in the run game where he can attack and be aggressive. The kid has heavy hands too. His punch has multiple examples of being strong enough to send defenders right to the dirt. I’m excited for his offseason development. He has the potential in him to really rise up the rankings and recruiting boards over the next 8 months.

Karson has made noticeable improvement from his solid sophomore season. The 6’3″ 290 lbs left guard’s strength shines on every snap of his highlights. His punch power and heavy hands along with his lower leg drive led to him resetting the line of scrimmage 3+ yards downfield. His lower body technique is improved over his ’21 season. He does a more consistent job of playing with a wide base allowing him to maximize his power. He also looks stout in pass protection. As soon as he sets his anchor it is over for IDL. A great start to Ernst’s junior campaign.
