Matthews is a guy who I was really impressed with when I saw Brighton play – he picked up his first offer from Maine. Matthews at 6’3 185 has a strong safety like body but shows the willingness and physicality to play around the box.

Matthews, who plays an SS/OLB role for Brighton likely plays that sort of Star or Rover position at the next level. He has a good frame that he can add weight to, and athletically on film, he shows some twitch and lateral quickness. There are not many reps where you see true long speed, but on film, you see him as a very consistent and willing tackler. Matthews is violent in how he tackles, and he can attack blockers on the edge and shed to make plays.

Kaleb Matthews Kaleb Matthews 6'3" | 185 lbs | ATH Brighton | 2025 State NY is a very aggressive FS that plays for Brighton High School. Matthews Stands in at 6’3” and weighs 185-pounds. The playing style that Matthews attacks ball carriers with is 100% no-fear. Many times, Matthews was seen on tape coming down hill or off the edge, attacking the RB in a hurry. The tackling ability that Matthews possesses was very clean and polished. This is a DB that will be a big hitter and get up with emotion. I was really impressed with how quickly Matthews could block-shed bigger opponents, especially in one-on-one situations. When it comes to the pure coverage ability, Matthews was also a factor in being able to line up in the slot and fast at attacking the ball when it is in the air. A very fun and talented player for the Brighton defense that will be entering into his final season.
