Expert Analysis

Wheeler is perhaps the top unsigned prospect in all of Idaho, and is a tremendous multi-sport athlete for the Vikings moving through his senior year. He is an elite athlete with a huge catch radius, strong hands and good tracking abilities when making contested catches. He shows he can box out smaller defenders, stretch the field with long speed and separation and is a very complete prospect with plus twitch and movement for his size. He can play multiple positions at the next level on both sides and checks into our rankings as the number one receiver and one of the top prospects in the 2025 class.

Wheeler is the only play in the 6A to receive a defensive and offensive 1st team all-state nod. He is a big-time athlete that can play on both sides of the ball. We project him more at a tight end at the next level with his frame he can put on good weight and really dominate against safeties and linebackers. He picked up offers from Montana Western and Western New Mexico

Wheeler is a really good-looking prospect with elite ball skills and the ability to really rip the football out of the air. He projects at the next level at tight end where he is going to be able to add really good weight to his frame but still be a major receiving threat. He is able to really use his size and strength to his advantage and has natural hands that allow him to catch the ball in a huge radius.

Wheeler is a prime-time performer and always plays the best in the biggest games. He has the ability to really stretch the field and go up over the top of smaller defenders. Strong hands and ability to create separation is the reason that he is the number one ranked wide out in the state for 2025.

Wheeler is a prime-time player which means that he always shows up big in the biggest games at the biggest moments. His ability to go up and get the football is what makes him really special, he wins the 50/50 balls. His route running is improved, and he creates space to operate against the defense.

Wheeler checks into our rankings as a top ten overall prospect in this 2025 class, and the number one wide receiver/tight end that can play both positions and has tons of untapped potential at the next level. Wheeler is ranked as a 3-star recruit and holds offers from Montana Tech, College of Idaho and Minot State, and is a physical pass catcher with downfield seperation speed, a huge catch radius and strong hands in traffic with making contested catches. Wheeler shows good body control at the POA, has some good short area wiggle for his size and can make defenders miss in the open field while able to consistently get yards after the catch.

Wheeler continues to impress this offseason as a rangy weapon that can really win over the top of defenders. Has improved in his route running ability and can use his size to his advantage. Strong hands and ability to track the football in the air separates him from many of the wide receivers in his class.

Wheeler is currently our number one receiver in our rankings across Idaho, and checks in as the number one player at his position per 247-sports as well and was rated as a three-star prospect. He has been flying under the radar so far this off-season but is an elite play maker and can win vertically, tracks the ball well over the top and can make contested catches across the middle of the field and is tremendous after the catch as well. Wheeler is a very complete receiver that should gather FCS type interest in the coming months.

Wheeler checks in at our number one wide receiver in the class of 2025 with his big catch ability. A wide receiver with prototypical size standing at 6’3”, Wheeler is able to really go up and get the football. He is one of the best 50/50 ball pass catchers we saw on film last season and has really soft hands. A natural pass catcher that doesn’t let the ball get into his body. He is really starting to get in and out of his breaks with efficiency and has good speed to really threaten teams over the top. He is going to have a monster senior season and is one to keep an eye on for sure.
