Stern has been on a complete tear the first half of the season and is currently leading the top team in the state through the first six weeks. Stern is on a short list of Player of the Year candidates and has been putting up video-game type numbers since the beginning of the year. The dual-threat passer has a live arm downfield, is a very high IQ player and shows he can buy time with his legs and to plenty of damage on designed runs and manages one of the more explosive and efficient offenses we have seen in Idaho in a long time. Friday night was no different as he put up a masterful performance against a loaded Rigby squad and thew for 294 and 4 touchdowns while tacking on another 48 on the ground.

Stern is a very exciting passer that can run around and make plays with his legs, buys time in the pocket and has a rocket arm downfield while showing he can fit the ball into tight windows, throw his receivers open and has good spin and velocity on the ball over the top. Stern is a complete passer that has open field speed, good pocket presence and processes quickly while able to move defenders with his eyes and throw from various platforms while on the urn and across his body. So far he has thrown for 1,355 yards and 17 touchdowns while tacking on another 467 yards on the ground with 8 scores. He leads the state in passing so far and someone is going to get a big time steal after the season as we close in on national signing day.

Stern has long been one of the top athletes in the state and is very dangerous behind center as he can do lots of damage with both his arm and his legs in the ground game. He has a live arm and is not afraid to take shots downfield, throws into tight windows with zip and spin on the ball and has shown he can take off and run on designed plays and when protection breaks down. He is truly a dual-threat passer back there that is going to be another late steal here for a college program. Through the first two weeks of play he has thrown for 497 yards and 5 touchdowns, while doing damage with his legs as well.

Stern is a big and physical athlete that can play multiple positions on either side of the ball in college and has some untapped potential and upside heading into his senior year for the Vikings. He can play on the outside, behind center and at multiple spots on defense and is a very intriguing prospect with length and range/a big catch radius downfield while a excellent open field tackler as well. It will be interesting to see how his final season turns out after a impressive start to his prep career and he is more than worth a flyer from a college program at multiple positions.

Stern does not have a ton of Varsity film yet, but is one of the better athletes in this class across the region and is an explosive runner with a big arm downfield that can do tons of damage with his legs. He should fit nicely into the dual-threat roll for the vikings and they should not miss a step with Stern coming into the mix this off-season.

Checking into our rankings as a top five overall signal caller in his class and top 15 overall player, he should have a breakout season next year in the starting roll for the vikings and should be able to continue to preview this year what is to come next Fall.
