Julian Elzey Julian Elzey 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Brookwood | 2027 State GA is one of the better defensive backs in the state now; he just isn’t in front of the mainstream media. He has all the solid traits one could want, and he could find himself playing multiple positions in college. Elzey is gifted in his movement, and is one of the very few defenders who doesn’t skip a beat in either man or zone coverage. He is worth keeping tabs on, as he is one of the top-100 players, and is going to find his way into the top-50 if people get to see him live.

A versatile defensive back who can play on the outside or in the slot, Elzey is sound in coverage and knows how to wrap up and make a secure tackle on the ball-carrier. He runs well and has a nose for the football, constantly putting himself in a position to make a big play for the Brookwood defense. He also shined on special teams and is one of the top returning players for the broncos this fall. He’s a dependable prospect who could help in all three phases of the game as a junior this fall. After a strong 2025 season, Elzey is now ranked as the No. 10 DB and the No. 47 overall prospect in Georgia for the 2027 class.

He already holds an impressive offer list, but this time the playmaking defender out of Brookwood (GA) earned an offer from Florida State. As a sophomore in 2024, Elzey made a big impact for the Broncos where he made 71 tackles, four pass-breakups, one forced fumble and one blocked punt. He’s one of the top returning DBs in the region bound for a giant junior season this fall.

One of the top defensive backs in Gwinnett County, Elzey is a sure-tackling defensive back who shined at the safety position last year for the Brookwood Broncos. The 6-foot-1 190-pounder was extremely active against the run as a sophomore last fall as he made 71 tackles, four pass-breakups, one forced fumble and one blocked punt. He’s a strong overall athlete and earned a big offer over the weekend from the in-state Georgia Bulldogs.

Elzey came into the week as one of the most recognizable names in the game. Already ranked a Top 5 DB in the 2027 Class has several offers including Georgia Tech. Great frame at 6’1 175 and covers a lot of ground in secondary. The QBs tried to stay away from him as much as they could on Sunday but the one time they threw at him he made an acrobatic interception to end a scoring drive.

Outlook: Elzey is already a P4 recruit and will be a National recruit before his time in high school is done. He brings all the intangibles on the field and off the field.
