His length helps him disrupt timing at the line, throughout the route, and play the ball down the field. He casts a wide net as a tackler as well. The traits are good enough to bank on, which is what is lifting him to the FBS level. He is definitely a player Tulsa has to be excited about.

An impressive defensive back who made a commitment this weekend to Tulsa, Byrd is coming off a big junior season for Kennesaw Mountain where he made consistent plays in coverage. He brings D1-caliber size, closes well on receivers, and knows how to break up passes down the field. He’s also a strong run defender who will make his way to Langston Hughes next season as a senior. He has the potential to have a big 2024 season and will do it committed to the Golden Hurricanes.
