They say the only constant in life is change. Off of the heels of a breakthrough sophomore campaign that saw him convert 41 receptions into 1063 yards with 16 touchdowns – which placed him amongst the leaders in the state – his 2025 offseason for Josiah Zayas Josiah Zayas 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR/DB Piscataway | 2026 State NJ saw changes more frequent than the seasons. Originally a Syracuse commit, Zayas has since decommitted and reopened his recruitment. St. Thomas Aquinas made the decision to change coaches, moving on from Tarig Holman and proceeding with Jonathan Germano. Germano then changed his mind and resigned before ever coaching a game. As a result, the school had to change courses and ultimately settled on Shamir Bearfield as their head coach. Furthermore, after a killer campaign, Zayas’ ranking changed as well as he moved up 40 spots to #64 overall and the #6 receiver in his class.

The Trojan’s leading receiver, Josiah Zayas Josiah Zayas 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR/DB Piscataway | 2026 State NJ , was only a sophomore last year. In a run-first team that featured two backs with over 1,000 yards rushing, Zayas hauled in 27 passes for 353 yards and 4 scores. Defensively it seems as if he was a part-time contributor as he made 16 tackles (6 solos), 1 fumble recover, and 2 interceptions. Unfortunately the junior-to-be does not have any highlights available. Should he wish to play college football I hope that this is something he prioritizes after his grades and STA’s offseason strength & conditioning program.
