With the pun fully intended, he should be a Welcomed prospect by Piscataway. He was one of the top DBs at The Rize 2026 and played with good length and speed. Part of a Chiefs 2030 class that has gone 18-0 the last two seasons in middle school ball.

Welcome was one of my top DB’s this past weekend. I liked his footwork and his quick speed in and out of cuts. I liked his hands and his physicality with reps, and he was able to knock WR’s off their stance at the POA.

Cassius Welcome certainly welcomes compeition at a high level and that is one of many reasons why he is competing in this major event called the “RIZE”! He is one of those defensive backs that doesn’t give up easy plays, and he is going to match up well with some of the best wide outs for sure. He is going to be a name you’ll likely hear about once this one’s over!

While I didn’t get the chance to attend that event in person, from what other scouts told me, Cassius is a player worth paying attention to. He has great size and dimensions for the position group and I anticipate him using those to his advantage at Rize.
