brings a little bit of edge to this group, and every spring ball list needs at least one lineman who looks like he enjoys making life miserable for people across from him. He’s not some polished, finished product yet, but there’s enough size and power there to make you stop and pay attention pretty quickly. At around 6’3″ and pushing close to 300 pounds, Gandy already looks like a legit interior body, and when he gets his hands on defenders, he’s controlling the rep. There’s not a lot of finesse to the way he plays right now, and honestly, that’s part of what makes him fun. He wants to hit people, and for a bigger lineman, he moves around better than you’d probably expect. When Cesar Chavez asks him to climb, pull, or work laterally, he doesn’t look stuck in the mud. The technique still needs some tightening up, which is normal at this age. Pad level and consistency with his base will all keep getting better with experience, but the raw strength already looks pretty real. There are snaps where he can get movement even when everything isn’t technically perfect, and that’s usually a good sign there’s something real to build on. The biggest thing this spring is probably figuring out where he fits best long term. Guard feels like the cleanest projection right now, but center could be interesting too with how well he moves.

6’3” 295 lbs. Gandy is a tough and physical presence on the OL for Cesar Chavez with the versatility and frame to play multiple spots across the line. He brings a strong combination of size, strength, and functional athleticism that allows him to be effective from the interior or at tackle depending on need. Plays with an edge, showing aggression at initial contact and through the whistle. Hand usage stands out, they are active, accurate, and violent allowing him to strike first, control defenders, and reset when necessary, Plays with good pad level and leverage at the POA consistently driving defenders off the ball and winning at the contact point. Does a good job keeping a solid base, mirroring laterally, and absorbing power with balance and anchor strength. No offers yet but physical tools and positional flexibility make him recruitable at the college level and a riser in the recent rankings update.
