About Joren

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play linebacker for my high school and love to play hard nose football. I enjoy the discipline needed for this position and how I am able to be involved in all plays. I feel this position allows me to fill in the gaps on run plays, as well as covering the middle part of the field on pass plays.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have been playing football since 1st grade and have loved the game my whole life. I enjoy the preparation needed to be successful, as well as the bonds that are created with fellow teammates, who I now call brothers. I have a strong work ethic and understand the commitment needed to play at the next level.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

In middle school, I was selected into the National Honor Society and currently I am a part of the National Society of High School Scholars.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have played football, basketball, and baseball throughout my years and understand the commitment to teamwork. I have also been a part of our high school football camps for middle school players. During these camps, we work on building strong fundamentals to help younger athletes to continue to grow, which I feel shows leadership.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I initially started out my high school career as a fullback, but my sophomore year, didn't see much playing time. I continued to work hard at practice everyday waiting for my chance to prove myself. Halfway through the year, I was asked to move to the defense and work at the linebacker position. By the end of my sophomore season, I was able to help my team into the playoffs at this position.

What type of college are you looking for?

My dream has always been to play Division 1 football, but would love to just continue playing at the next level in college.

Joren has been at our combines before, and it’s been awesome to see the growth between each one. He has good athletic ability due to very good jumping, good change of direction, speed, and acceleration. In drills with RB and TEs, he showed his good man coverage ability. Staying stride for stride with both the RB and TE. He used his good ball tracking skills, to swat the ball at the last second. Good range. Flores demonstrated very good reaction time as well, trusting his instincts to lead him to the tackle. Great job by the bruising linebacker !
