Expert Analysis
Matt Tate | Prep Redzone Scout
Zeck measures in at 6’2 240-pounds playing DE, and DT for Pueblo West. Last season, he had 63 total tackles (36 solo, 27 assisted), 15 TFL, 7.5 sacks, 9 QB pressures, and 1 FR. Good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, lateral quickness, good speed, and balance. Very good strength. He has very good initial quickness out of his stance, using his hand speed to engage the defender first. Very good hand strength and hand placement. Good get off speed with very good block shedding. Very good bend around the edge. Zeck is a strong tackler with relentless pursuit. I can see Zeck impacting the FCS level.

At 6’2 240, Zeck not only has good size for the next level, but also an endless motor! Consistently chasing down runs away from him and plays downfield, there’s nothing stopping Zeck’s high effort to get a ball carrier to the ground. He possesses a good get off and plays behind his strong hands. I love his understanding of attacking half the man, and not just trying to bull rush each blocker down their midline. He has a muscular build and a well-built lower half. The Cyclones will need him to have one of his best games to date to control the line of scrimmage.

Throughout the season, he has had 55 total tackles (33 solo, 22 assisted), 14 TFL, 7.5 sacks, 7 QB pressures, and 1 fumble recovery. Very good strength. He starts with a low pad level and very good hand speed to engage with the defender first. Very good hand strength and placement. Very good bend around the edge. Zeck rotates between different moves to beat the tackle, (spin, swim and bull rush). Zeck is a strong tackler, not letting the ball carrier away from his grasp. He has relentless pursuit, and plays through the whistle. He has fire and tenacity in his play, and it shows. Zeck is a great player, and deserves more looks from colleges.

Measures in at 6’2 240 pounds, Zeck plays DE and DT last season, and also was a key member for the Mile High Prep defense. Last season, he accounted for 61 total tackles (33 solo, 28 assisted), 9 TFL, 8 sacks, 14 QB pressures, 2 PD, 1 FR, and 1 blocked punt. Zeck has very good strength and good hand speed. As an edge rusher, he demonstrates a very good bend around the edge, even getting a 1 arm sack. He maintains a low pad level to get underneath the OL’s pad. Zeck is a very smart player. He will put his arms up to create pass deflections at the LOS. He also will rip/punch the ball out of the ball carrier. He is a very stout run stopper, and has very good tackler. One thing of note is his relentless pursuit and giving his all during the play. Keep an eye on him and recruit him too! He’s a great young man and colleges NEED to recruit him !!

Zeck is a player that continues to prove he belongs in the conversation among the state’s top defenders. He had a strong junior season and backed it up by standing out with Mile High Prep in the Prep Super League. His production and effort caught the attention of several D2 programs, and the buzz around him is growing. Zeck plays with a chip on his shoulder, using his high motor and physicality to fly to the football. If he carries this same intensity into the regular season, more offers will follow. Keep him firmly on your radar as a stock riser with something to prove.
