Jordan Andrus
About Jordan
Expert Analysis
Herman Thomas | Prep Redzone Scout
The Rice Owl commit had himself an impressive junior year, displaying his straight-line speed and athleticism after the catch. Andrus has confident hands and is a reliable safety valve for his quarterback. He is a physical blocker who understands how to drive his feet when engaged, finishing blocks off with aggression. Andrus is tough to bring down in the open field and creates mismatches off the line. He will be looking to have an even more productive senior season and solidify his spot as one of the top players at the position.

Andrus has a stout build with long arms and he is a sure handed receiving target that can run past defenders for six. He is a versatile target who can line up in line or split out wide and be a matchup nightmare for defenses. Andrus has an explosive first step at the snap, he uses his frame well in close coverage to wall of defenders and he has the speed to separate at the second level from defenders. Andrus is a playmaker defensively, where he lines up as an edge rusher and causes havoc for opposing offenses. His speed and explosion off the ball make him a difficult matchup for blockers.
