adds his name to the list as another WR prospect with big-play potential in a conference full of them. Laugerman finished with 636 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns on just 26 catches, averaging 21.9 yards per reception. Having seen playing time on the varsity offense since his freshman season, Laugerman has developed at a great pace over the last 3 years. A track athlete who’s posted a 4.6 40 yard time, Laugerman’s speed is evident on the gridiron, as he was able to get behind the secondary easily and burn defenders after the catch, making him an excellent deep threat for Two Rivers’ offense. With fluid hip movement and showing burst on the break of his routes, Laugerman has solid route-running skills, and his speed translates well as a return specialist as well as for WR-reverse runs. Laugerman is a certified deep-threat with dangerous speed and dynamic playmaking ability that certainly warrants attention heading into this upcoming recruiting class.

is a name to remember. The speedster has popped off some impressive testing times throughout his high school career and in front of PrepRedzoneMN scouts, most recently popping off a 4.69 and 4.72 40, a 4.44 and 4.49 shuttle, and an 8’11 broad at December’s PrepRredzoneMN Stock-Up Shwocase. The junior took a visit to St. Thomas for the Tommies junior day in January, and NDSU and Montana State have both stopped by Mendota Heights to check in on Laugerman at school. The stud wideout caught 30 passes for 655 yards (21.8 YPC) and 12 TDs, 10 of which were through the air, one on the ground, and one as a returner.
Laugerman can take the top off the defense and easily burn man coverage when he works to get vertical, even blowing by double coverage and popping off massive gains through the air without defenders even being able to get a hand on him thanks to his pace. The same goes for his KOR TD, Laugerman made one cut, got vertical, and was gone, blowing by the entire St. Paul Highland Park coverage unit and into the endzone like it was a stroll in the park. Nearly took a punt back for six in 2024 as well. The 170 lber. can easily eat up CB cushions, accelerates out of his breaks, which helps him take advantage of DBs when they get off-balance or out of position and at the top of the route, and does a good job of stacking WRs after gaining a step. The three-year starter will also sell out and sacrifice his body to reel in deep balls.

Laugerman made two big plays that stood out. On defense, he broke on a deep out to deflect a pass. On offense, he made a diving catch for forty yards.

Tons of notable football talent roaming the halls of Two Rivers High School for 2025 and 2026, and a must-know name out of the sophomores whose film and skillset really got me fired up is 5’8, 160 lb. WR John Laugerman. A prototypical slot receiver possessing splash-play speed, quick feet, and a nose for the endzone, Laugerman can use his top-end speed to break a play, and a game, wide open. The sophomore can take the top off the defense, eat up DBs cushions, finish big runs once he gets into space, and torch pursuit angles, all while putting in as much effort as you or I would to go up and get a cold drink from the fridge. The 160 lber. is also an explosive and elusive kick returner, displaying the vision to find a crease, the speed to take advantage of it, and the lateral quickness and timing to cut at top speed and force missed tackles. Laugerman also demonstrates good ball skills and concentration, good footwork in his releases, stacks DB once he gets a step, and is smooth at the top of the route and can create separation when he drops his hips. I also like his burst, and you can visibly see him shift into that top gear when he sees a TD opportunity, and as a route runner, he takes what the defense gives him and recognizes when to break his routes off and when he’s facing single coverage. All the best parts about a slot receiver and a natural playmaker who knows how to capitalize on the strengths of his skillset. Big opportunity as a junior to solidify his stock and talent.
