I was pretty locked in on the game between Millard North and Elkhorn South on Thursday night in the slough of games I watched, as one of my favorite prospects on the night was Elkhorn South Joey Kisocoan. One of the more sizable 2027 running backs, Joey showed off consistently that he knew how to plow thru contact and create yards with the durability he offered in a nailbiter against Millard North. He also established well-versed vision on his run reps and showed off great fluidity on some of his splash plays he gathered on Thursday. He holds just two Division 2 offers at the moment and if I am a D2 recruiter recruiting Nebraska, I would surely be looking at him for a senior eval as he’s been a difference maker for the Storm on both sides of the ball.

expected to take over the starting role. Joey played great as the backup last season, totaling 336 yards and seven touchdowns on only 51 carries. I was very impressed with how agile Joey is for being a bigger back at 6’0″, 205 pounds, displaying great cutback ability and the ability to make defenders miss in tight quarters. Combine his underrated agility with vision that helps him identify opening run lanes, and you have a back who can make you pay if you don’t bring him down immediately. Joey also possesses a very strong base that keeps him balanced and upright as he fights through tackle attempts. Excellent burst that can help him separate from defenders once he sees the open field. Tireless motor and a nose for the endzone make him a dangerous back who can strike from anywhere. Kiscoan should also be a key player on defense after recording 25 tackles, four TFLs, a sack, and an interception playing linebacker. He shows the same physicality and explosiveness on defense, where he can flat-out get after the ball carrier. Breakout candidate for the Elk South Storm!
